Back in January my g/f bought an ex demo 1.6 New Leon with approx 3,500 miles on the clock.
When it got to around 5000 miles - the N/S Drive Shaft failed - Seat Peterborough replaced the part and off she went.
Last week approaching 10000 miles - CLUNK - the same driveshaft failed!
Has anybody else heard of this problem?
Incidently, AA took 4hrs to recover vehicle and a further 2.5hrs to arrange a courtesy/hire car - Great Service eh?
Contacted SEAT UK asking if there was a known issue? what happens if it happens again? Initial answer was "tough" that's what the warranty is for! After a more lengthy conversation the response was "yes we will look in to what is causing the problem"
The car is currently with the Peterborough Dealership who replaced the first driveshaft and are replacing/investigating the root cause.
Watch this space - maybe they'll put some updrated or non-faulty ones on this time or rectify any potential human errors...
