Wasn't sure where to post this, so decided to put if here. I got my Leon Cupra Facelift a few weeks ago, she is standard and was owner by s lady owner for the last 7 years. Full service history, but everything done at a lower price point, so cheap tyres etc.

I got it from a guys who buys and sells cars on, big isn't a dealer He had just sold another Cupra and was also selling a Escort Cosworth and Sierra Cosworth.

The car was all good from what I could tell, someone had smoked in it and there was scratches round the car but pretty sure I could fix this so agreed a price and drove home. 150 mile drive home was great, apart from the smoke smell and fear that the cam follower hadn't been changed in the documented history.

Since having her home Iv wet backed the seats and headlining along with a Aircon cleaner which has removed most the smoke smell. Also changed the cabin filter once done. Iv changed the cam follower, PVC and Diverter Valve. Tyres also changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 from the budget ditch finders.

The seller has power coated the wheels bit left the center cap silver, so wrapped them with some carbon wrap to darken them, looks better but I'm not 100% happy with them, might try a dark grey?

The car is such a change for me as my last car was a Peugeot 306 Rallye which dosent even have electric windows or sound deadening, so the sat Nov, Xenon's, autolights etc are a jump into the future. Don't know if it's standard but my rearview mirror even has red lights that project a red glow down over the dash!!!!!

So the plan going forward is to carry on with the bodywork restorations and getting her ready for a stage 1 Revo remap. Plan to get the following done before the remap with the insurance renewal in February

Induction Kit
Pickup pipe with reccomended oil and sump clean
Remove pre-cat

With the remap I going to get the carbon removed and the injectors flowed/cleaned. That should of covered most the known issues/failures for me to sit back and enjoy the car

Sounds like you've got all the maintenance in hand. And caught that cam follower in time. Youll love the stage 1. Best upgrade for the money.

The mirror does that when it's switched on. Lol. If you get dazzled by headlights from a car behind it automatically tints blue.

Also. If your planning to add to this regularly. Want me to move you to the readers ride section?

If you could please move it for me

I will add to it going forward, but no big jobs for a month now

Congrats on the new car!

Is it black or dark grey lol your outside shots look black but your machine polish one's looks grey haha

The only extra thing I've done in terms of maintenance is put in a new oil pick up pipe and changed to the orange dip stick as the older one breaks off after a while I've been told.

Looks like the car is finally in good hands!

New dipstick, are talking for the engine or the driver I'll add that to my list.

The car is black metallic, but I'm colour blind so can't tell you what other colours are in the fleck on the car. Here is a picture in daylight, the seller painter the brakes (including the backs of the pads) red which makes them look huge.

Not done much to the car recently other than getting the ODBEleven, great bit of kit. So far I enabled the lock/unlock beeping, needle sweep and remote boot release. Needed to change the struts and boot stoppers but all worth it in the end

Just got a few faults on the car to deal with, brakes all need changing and the cars idle from a cold start is roughly for about a minute or so.
