So Steve...

Did you join the best club in the world ever lol

If you did you'll have to get some pics up so we can have a nosey (make sure you blank out your reg)

What choice of cars did you have other than the Altea?

Cheers

Hi Jimbobcook

Yes bought the Altea XL
I will try to get some pictures up if I ever get some time in daylight
I made my choice mainly down to economics and practicality
Looked from A-Z on Autotrader
Cross reference on eBay then visited Available Car in Cannock just to see cars in the flesh
Liked the look of the Altea XL but had to go find one to see if it suited
I must have sat in every medium sized car in the place

Must admit the Hyundai I30 was a close second choice. Smaller car but well put together
Looked at one at AC but it was 8k
With the Altea I get the best of both worlds
Good economy and plenty of room
My only gripe is that there doesn’t seem to be any diy manuals available
I understand that the mechanics are VAG but it would be knife to get to know the thing.

Driving the car is a bit different to what I expected
It drives more like a small van than a people carrier
But it’s early days. I am sure it will be good

Cheers

Steve

Not sure if you are aware but Seat (and the whole VAG Group) do have an online portal for the cars.

https://erwin.seat.com/erwin/showHome.do

You will have to pay its so much per hour but these documents are maintained by SEAT Factory so are the best source of information on the car (apart from this site)

To give you some idea of what you can see check out https://drive.google.com/open?id=1U9bOSAvm1x0lj4gECGDFW2AkZw1l1PYY

Also check out https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17niPDTGZOTXyfPmy_vow7kCIcuOTL81F as this has many of the self study programs

This thread https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/leon-mk3-official-seat-workshop-manuals-link.442353/ will show you the sort of stuff we have for the Leon - not relevant to you I dont think but at least it lets you see what is out there.
