    Why would someone relocate it?

What else should I looo at while I’m doing this, concerned the owner may have done other stuff while there.

Shouts out to the dealership who didn’t mention any of this and told me it was a “rare stock example”

As the diverter valve is usually near the hot side of the car, exhaust etc. Manufacturers claim moving it will increase the performance/durability of the part, how valid that is no idea. Also it allows you access it easier but they don't exactly need replacing every week either so idk really.

However to relocate it does add a lot more pipes and tubing which needs to be correctly installed and checked.

This will give you an idea for a slightly different engine https://www.getunitronic.com/parts/intercoolers/20l-tsi-gen1-dv-relocation-kit

Is your engine code BYD? That’s where my diverter valve is in my edition 30, and was on my last edition 30 too.

A genuine rev G is the best for these engines.
