Evening all,

Recently returned to the seat fold having purchased a 2011 Leon FR Plus 2.0TDI. (previously owned a 56 reg PD170 leon).

With the nice weather over the weekend and driving with the window down i've picked up on a ticking/clicking sound coming from the engine that changes tempo with the RPM until about 3k rpm when the general engine sound drowns it out.

Investigating further when stationary the noise isn't present at idle but appears above 1k rpm to the 2.5k limit the and seems to be coming from the front of the engine near the HPFP/timing cover/alternator area but i'm struggling to pinpoint it.

Have carried out a search and haven't found anything conclusive so wondered if anyone has had similar symptoms to give me a head start before getting it looked at.

The car has only done 48k and recently had a cambelt prior to purchase.

Cheers in advance.

Sounds like tappets. Timing could be out slightly after changing the belt.
