Scott - it's clear that your dealer isn't interested in your order - maybe he's scared of your ultimate negotiating ability

there's loads of other ones out there who will take a deposit :)

Another local dealer have just told me they have 10 orders already placed. Many of which sould arrive at the end of Jan, early Feb for people who can't wait for the new plate. He said they had orderd two spare and I could have one of them if I wanted. One's in the colour I want, but has no options (I want bluetooth and the comfort pack). They even said a Seat UK bod had just gone into their MD's office and they "popped off to check".

He said orders going in soon won't be arriving until the middle of next year - dealers are just under lots of demand for the car.

It all seems really quite bizzare. I've only waited 2 years for this car.

Surely there isnt 'that' much demand for it? Dont get me wrong but 6month waiting ...

They said this about the R when it was out but I managed to get one in 8weeks from order (with Recaro's).

I might order one as the R is due for replacement soon but I wont until I have seen/driven one.

I've made some more calls. Personally I think there is a lot of dealer fibbing going on to get sales in the bag.

I'm sure my dealer will come up trumps in the end. I've only been nagging them about this car for the last year or so. :p

Can you just imagine the mess that Syphon+1 year of thinking about the new Cupra can make?

I agree, the dealers are bigging the car up, the Cupra R was not that popular, it will nto be anywhere near the Golf Gti etc. Negotiate, remeber not many people will be willing to agree to buy a new £20K car within a week of Jan.

Go for a minimum of 10% discount and you should get the sale, yeas the car may be a new model but they still ned to sell units.

I got 10% of our lasses CTR when it was a new model by ordering in Jan for a march delivery and due to demand for the model it did not arive until may!!!

Just realised they've done what they did with the R and dropped the alloy footrest from the LHD models on the RHD cars. Well on the ones at the motorshow at least.

No room for them as LHD configuration, and unlike VW who redesigned it for the R32 RHD, SEAT havn't bothered.

Restricted Supply?

Sorry if this has been covered in this thread already but ther are a lot of posts to go through, when speaking to my local dealer last week they told me that they would only be able to get 1 Cupra every 3 months due to restrictions, has any one else hear this?

10%

Hey I'm extremely unsure how this 10% discount before you deal on a new Leon Cupra will work out.

Ive only been working with Seats for the past 6months or so, but there hasnt been a 10% margin available in that time(on any model), and even less so for the next year.

I think the fact is the car will sell, and any dealer discounting the car is cutting his own throat, and as for hold out for 10% discount...pure cuckoo land!!

Oh Merry Xmas to one and all!!!

10% is acheivable on most ifnot all cars, the Cupra is going to be a relatively small seller and I would expect this without any major trouble.

NB I did acheive over 10% on the new leon about 6 months ago.

As a result I now run/buy our company car fleet an got 10% wihtout asking on 2 audi's I have just bought for deliver 1 march(nb this was on top of the standard audi discount!).

It depends how hard you try but NEVER pay the retail price for any car, even a mini at this time of the year

No xenons? Is that not standard on Cupra?

http://www.seatcupra.net/seat_news/...on_cupra_pricing_confirmed_for_240ps_476.html

Like all SEAT models, the new model offers great value for money, under the philosophy of ‘attainable sportiness’. Standard specification includes bixenon headlights with AFS (Adaptive Front lighting System), six airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), dual zone climate control, MP3-compatible CD player with AUX IN for directly connecting, for example, an iPod, plus front and rear electric windows

Can anybody confirm that bixenons and aux in are or are not "standard specification" on Cupra?
