now im thinking of doing the following for new year overhaul

with the track rods, worth doing the whole rod or just the ends, are the ends the parts that wear really??

then 4 wheel alignment...

Only really worth doing the ends unless you have excessive play in the inner joints. Other than that just change the outer joints.

I wouldn't change the wheel bearings just for the sake of it.

ARB mount bushes are good to change as they take a right beating.

think i have a dodgy nearside bearing tho willie, so thatl need doing..

so you reckon track rod ends??

on steering wheel, i can move the wheel freely side to side whilst stationary... dodgy steering rack.. or bush?

arb bushes im gonna go superpro bushes i think.. easy enough diy? are they accesible without dropping subframe?

ARB bushes are a PITA, they are accessable but a right bitch to do, this doesn't involve droppong the sub frame.

Not too sure about the steering wheel play and what it would definately be.
But either bush or inner track rod ends would be a good place to start.
If it is the bush your going to need to drop the sub frame.

I think the inner rods are quite common? The garage that done mine last onth said they'd done quite a few on Leons and Golfs.

There only about £15 each so worth changing for piece of mind IMO.

I'd say so mate, you'll need a wheel alignment either way so might as well get them done..........sods law you won't do them then they start playing up.
