Now then peeps, this is my first seat and im well chuffed. it a 07 plate black ibiza cupra it has a few bits but nowt special, i got rid of my vauxhall astra sri 150 diesel coop because for a 2008 car the list of major common faults on it was **** and they were all starting on mine ( about 2500 worth) so i did a straight swap with a main dealer and here i am.
so cheers for any future advice.
ash.

Ye it was my first and last diesel, pain in the arse car. My ibiza is a cupra 1.8 20v turbo big front mounted intercooler, lowered about 50mm, forge 007p recirc valve. Looks a lot like ur pic. Its a great car:)

Okay i bought myself a 2005 Seat ibiza Cupra tdi last night and i need some advice on how to get it to at least 240bhp.

If i do the following & spend almost £3,000 i am bound to get an extra 80bhp?

Hybrid Turbo @ 29psi boost
Full Milltek turbo back exhaust
Uprated Sachs Clutch
Air filter
R783 Injectors
EGR disabled
Boost Gauge
then finally remapped :p

Surely all this costly gear would get me 240bhp & over 340 ft/lbs Torque?

I think spending that kinda moolar wud surely get u around that kinda bhp. Just look after your gear box launching ut in 1st that kinda tourque will smash it 2 bits if u dont take care.

I dont know what to be at to be honest. Could you guys please tell me what is the most cost effiecent way of achiving nice power without having to spend over £2,500?

What i mean is would the best option be:

1. Put on a hybrid turbo, air filter, milltek exhaust, sachs clutch & then remap my new Cupra & possibly get 230bhp for around £2,000. Instead of spending another £1,000 for just an extra 10bhp (which is NOT cost effective).

2. Just put on an air filter, full milltek exhaust & remap to see 205bhp it at the cost of less than £1,000, but run the risk of the turbo blowing at 1.7 bar?

You know what i mean like!

Ps Sorry for butting into your thread but it would not let me start my own as i havent make at least 20 posts or some ol craic!

im sure the turbo could handle a remap, if u put a hybrid turbo on you will need to replace all the turbo hoses or they will just blow off or split, u will need a big intercooler.then chase all other uprated parts (cone filter ect.) and the list goes on. i would just remap it. But diesel tuning is a whole different bag of monkeys.:). so what made you go for a diesel over petrol

 sounds like my old car then not long ago got rid of that at mark lilly diesels it has more than the things on it you have listed its mapped to stage two by badger 5 custom code so has turbo back exhaust, forge 007p forge intercooler pipe, lower engine mount bush,kw coilovers, short short shift, green panel filter,i made an h7 bulb fit the reverse light to make it super bright, forge turbo intake pipe,i will mention more as i remember.
i took a fair few bits off but nothing that would effect the engine much just handling stuff.

i travel 300 miles to get it from mark lillys, then 300 back home to hull. and you traded it for a leon cupra diesel. freeky busted cd player tho ive sorted it now tho.
so wat has been done to it. and just so you know i look after all my cars, so it will be well looked after.

im glad your look after it,it needs a drivers wing mirror switch too broke it the day i was tradeing it whoops the stereo wouldnt work when i refitted it,did the salesman say i didnt want to let it go and my gf helped twist my arm into it.

the list of things i did are.
blueflame resonated turbo back exhaust with 100 cell cat.
007p forge diverter valve (you should probably get a yellow spring for that)
green panel filter (i removed the big green open cone filter and still have it makes a nice difference)
custom code stage two map.
forge turbo intake pipe.
forge intercooler pipe.
custom short shifter.
kw adjustable coilovers.
repainted the calipers as you can probably tell.
uprated lower engine mount bush.
mintex pads and discs all round.
bright reverse light bulb i fitted a headlight bulb in there as standard was dim.
new south power gasket (goes under inlet manifold to keep inlet temps down).
a grade colder spark plugs.
oh and i polished up the seat sport intercooler but the winter retarnished it.
i removed a whiteline rear anti roll bar which i fitted but you should get one and 20mm rear spacers which i also advise you get and i removed a seat sport strut brace also removed the boost guage that i had fitted.
it was due a machine polishing but i did treat it to clay machine polish and wax late last summer.
it got a new cambelt and waterpump done by seat last year.
i cannot think of much else but it was an awesome car with the above mods and didnt feel right without the spacers rear anti roll bar and open cone filter.

i will send you a private message when you are able recieve them on here.
i forgot to mention i always ran it on super unleaded as it gave better mpg and when it was remapped it was mapped to run on super unleaded.
it did have an n249 bypass but i put that back to standard, when that was on it seemed to make a huge difference.
all i have left for that car is a huge green cotton filter.
