No reverse

Looking for some advice

fired up my Leon 20vt for the first time today
Had it a few months
Bought it as a project with snapped engine mounts and boost issues

put a new battery in it and started first turn of the key but won’t go into reverse
Feels like it’s going into reverse but only goes forward

Does this look normal or is there anything broken or missing from the gear selector

anything else to check

Nothing stands out, but maybe try this video mate, it covers both the 5 and 6 speed boxes in our cars.

One of the linkages was worm

new linkage and reset them fixed it
