Hi everyone,

Firstly I just want to say that this is a really fantastic website, and although I haven't registered before now your posts have help me chose my old 1997 Ibiza Cupra Sport and now my lovely new red 2006 Leon TDI FR! (With a Celica T-Sport in between) I'm so chuffed with my new purchase that I just had to sign up!

I gotta say the Leon is just such a beautiful car and i'm really happy with it, it's got 14k on the clock and runs like a dream, i'm just getting to grips with not having to rev the hell out of it like you had to on my Celica to get the torque...it's just everywhere!

I would now like to get the ECU remapped but I have no idea where to go, I have heard Angel Tuning are good but i've also seen you all talk about Jabbasport and P-Torque so i'm confused! Where will I get the best results from? I live in Hertfordshire. Also, is there anything else I should know if I want to do this?

Cheers
Jase

Welcome Jase, and a great choice of car!

I would suggest saving your pennys to be honest, as most will tell you the FR TDi has been seen to produce over 180bph as standard anyway. Remaps at the minute are limited by the DPF, so for £500-ish you will only be getting 20-25bhp. I would save your cash until a successful remap has been done which doesnt cause issues with the DPF.

Hope you enjoy your new ride!

Ok guys thanks very much, i'll leave off the ECU map then for now (i'm sure it's got enough power as it is anyway - especially as it's also below 6000rpm! :p)

How easy is it to upgrade the stock speakers and headunit?

Also, can you add things like the Convenience and Winter pack on later as mine didn't come with them but they would be quite nice!

Cheers

Quite a few people trading in their Celica's for Leons...

I was in the same boat, but just had the 140 version on an 04 plate. T-Sport was too expensive at over £21,000

Speakers are easy to change, head unit only worth it if you dont have bluetooth, if you do i would leave it alone... not sure about adding on the 'packs' i think they are factory only, fromwhat people have said on here the only bit worth having from the convenience pack is the dimming rear mirror anyway...

I have to disagree about he re-map not being worth it....

We have tuned over 60 of these engines now with great results.

Come and try it, you can test drive it on the day, and if you are not happy, I will put it back to stock and pay for your fuel :funk:

Out of the 60 roughly what on average is the bhp gain?

25 bhp though isnt much for 300 notes. Think i will wait to see what Superchips and others are planning for the Spring with the DPF issue supposedly sorted

Hi

This is always misunderstood, peak figures are not everything, its how the power is held.

I understand the company you mention set fire to 2 170pd's.......we have had no issues at all.

We can map around te DPF problem right now, but this means removing the DPF...very few customers will want to do this.

Are you aware of a Company that does this yet - I was thinking of empting the DPF contents and bolting all together again - but not too sure if some of the sensors are checking for a chemical change??

There are 2 companies Superchips and another (someone on here will know from previous threads) that are looking toward 40/50 bhp increase. Not sure how much but i know the delay is to sort the DPF problem

Thanks Moley, will have to keep my ear to the ground [ I was hoping to cut open a scrap DPF to see. ..........] and yes I'm aware of the 5 sensors that have to be fooled.
