Oil Change

Might be a stupid question but I'm going to do a full oil change and change the filter.

I know what I'm doing for the act of actually changing the filter, draining the oil etc. What I am unsure of is what oil to put in. There a few different types of oils that can go in as far as I'm aware. However, I don't know what oil is in currently.

Do I need to know what oil is in currently or can I just use whatever the reccomended oil is on eurocarparts?

Thank you in advance!

If your draining all of the oil out, it doesn't matter what's currently in. Usually, if the spec says use 5W30 for example, I'll just buy a decent brand of that type... usually castrol edge.

Exactly as above, genuine SEAT filter or Mann which is same thing but cheaper as it is in Mann's own aftermarket packaging also a new drain washer or plug-washer depending on which type is fitted to your engine.

Maybe include your engine type in future as it can be relevant.

I'd add the option of Mobile One ESP 5W-30 to the list of suitable engine oils.
