It's a 2011 and the engine code is 'CAVE' so not one of the new units in the facelift models. I think the oil consumption was worse last year during the summer.

I haven't had my car through the summer yet, so we shall see. I check mine every Weekend. Sometimes it's used a bit, sometimes its used not much at all. Really strange as I do pretty much the same amount of miles every week! Guess it's to do with factors such as the outside weather and what my right foot feels like doing haha

Ok, checked my oil this weekend just gone, the thing has used everything I put in since the weekend before? Same driving conditions, to work and back everyday. Really starting to annoy me now. Had the car 3 months and this problem is ruining the car!

Is there a warranty still on a new engine? If SEAT have already replaced an Engine? Surely there is?

I am out of warranty and don't have a receipt for the replacement engine or any paperwork that it's been replaced, just word of mouth from the previous owner on this forum that it was changed. Pretty pissed off to be honest as the garage I bought it from never told me/didn't even know themselves. Do I have any comeback at all on this matter? If I ring a seat dealer can they trace previous records of a car they have carried work out on? If I provide documentation of ownership? Thanks

Seat UK should be able to help. I think new engines have a 12 month warranty.

In your case emailing seat UK is the first step. As they should have a complete record.
