So had this fitted on mine for a month or so and have done 1.5k and not noticed the car using any oil at all.
Thats with a mix of driving styles.

Since having the new engine put in, I've done 800 odd miles and the oil is at the halfway point...better than last time but heard that a new engine will use up abit of oil until ran in properly? Just put on my ITG kit and will see how it runs

Mines registered 19/09/11.

Only had the car three days but noticed the oil was very low. Topped it up half way today. Would I be as well to see Seat re replacement parts?

Could someone tell me what I need to ask for ask have no clue. I read through the past 9 pages and it somewhat confused me.

Car is now half way through its second week at the garage and they don't know when it will be finished! What can I say to Seat UK to get some sort of compensation for this?

Still using no oil, but i've just had a service and fresh oil so have to start from scratch. Very happy with the car at the moment!

I didn't do anything, guessing the garage were pushing the HO for it as they didnt have a clue what the problem was but could see the results were poor every time they weighed the oil.

Where abouts are you from?

Ah right, then my suggestion wont be any good to you! Some people's seemed to be fine after the breather, suppose it depends on how much damage has already been done

What work is actually carried out if you take the car to the dealer? Oil consumptions tests etc? Then this determines what happens to your engine I guess?

They filled my oil up to the max and asked me to drive 1000miles to begin with and go back so they can check where it was on the dipstick, but mine was all gone. So then they said they stripped all the oil out, weighed what was going back in, done 60 miles then weighed it again to see how much it had used. Then after that god knows what they done.

I'd imagine it might have fixed it, depends on how much damage was done before it was fitted?

Just checked my oil to see none on the dip stick. Stuck about 2 litres in, which brings it back up. No bloody light on or anything, I only checked the oil a week ago.

Will I have done any damage or would I know?!

Thre will be a difference from warm to cold oil. Hot things expand. Also how long did you leave the car stood for?
