Recently every so often my oil pressure light would beep and flash at me for about 15seconds. The oil level is fine. Today in the space of 2 miles it did it about 4 times. So now im worried there might be something more serious wrong?

Oil pressure sensor?
Oil pump failing?

Help me please.

could try changing the switch.
take the oil cap off aswell maybe and check oil is getting around.

dont think the strainers are common a 1.4 for blocking up like the 1.8t but obviously could if it hasnt been serviced at the right times and regulary. the pump i think is behind the crank and i had one pack up on my golf which scraped the engine. so listen out for any tapping noises.

id get it checked out as soon as at a specialists vw/seat place as you could be risking your engine and an expensive bill.

A quick one regarding the oil pressure sensor.

On the AUQ engine, I could only find the sensor on the oil filter housing. Which seems to be a high pressure sensor. Is there only the high pressure sensor on this engine?

On the older Golf's there seemed to be 2, a high presssure and a low pressure one.

When I take the oil cap off it is wet in there with oil but should I see it splashing around up there with the engine running?
