i'm guessing it's sensor related though.. MAF, coolant temp sensor assuming the air filter is something like half reasonable?

If it's hard to drive or stalling then it'll be the temp sensor. - It'll be really hard to pull away with and will stall all the time unless you give it some revs. Other that that; What Old Un's said - MAF sensor. The coolant temp sensor's actually fixable yourself and costs about £30 from Seat/ VW
