Owners of PD engines quick question

Hi All,

When should the boost come in on the PD engines when in 2nd, 3rd and 4th? I'm asking because I've had a reconditioned turbo fitted to mine but it doesn't feel right as the boost doesn't come in until 2k and above (which is pants because there is no low end power anymore).

Also, is it normal to have no boost in the 1st gear? Setting off is slow because I have to rev the 1st gear in order to get up to speed. Its a PD140 btw and I think it has had a remanufactured turbo (the old one blew its oil seals).

boost should come in immediately-- by the time you have approx. 1700 revs on the vanes will start to back off to avoid overboost you really need a guage to see it may be a vac air leak it only takes a tiny one to make a difference

Here's an RR graph of a PD130, it's over reading a little on the bhp and a lot on the torque, but you get the idea of where the power is coming in:
