Hey all,

my ride is awesome except for its poor paint state: roof and hood are burnt after heavy sun exposure (Spain) and sides were key-scratched by some random, drunk individual or something.

Whatever I want to get my car painted in a car paint shop. I would like to get something like this:

so I guess I need a three layer paint job:
  • Black base layer
  • Pearlescent gold or bronze layer
  • Protection layer
is this right? Should I specify something about the pearlescent layer? I mean I just want a subtle effect like that in the Renault Clio pic, not something excessive like this:

in other words I want a black car with a subtle "gold" reflection. I dont want it to look gold all around LOL.

You could ask for black with a small amount of gold fleck through it, will only be 2 coats then

I see, any ideas about proportions? I have read something like 1:200 (1 part of pearl for every 200 parts of base paint) isn't it too little? And should it be mixed with base coat or the clear coat (protective). Thanks!
