Part Revision Numbers?

Is there a specific order they go in, or a lookup to find the newest revisions of said parts?

In this instance i'm after a DV Valve; Part no:
06F145710 But there's B,C,D,G Revisions - am i correct to assume they just go alphabetically?

Um, I've had a quick google and that part number seems to be for a MK2 DV not a MK3? But yes, G is the latest and the one you'd want.
