PD130 only 118bhp and 250 miles per tank!

Had my car on the rollers (not going to mention any names because their customer service was terrible, not to mention their knowledge in tuning) and it only made 118bhp and 227ft-lbs torque on v-power with added cetane booster, (the car doesn't smoke at all with this fuel mixture and feels a bit more gutsy, on regular diesel it smokes like any other TDI).

I've only been getting 250 miles per tank no matter what fuel used or if its town driving or motor way driving so something must be up. It gets 150 miles at the half tank mark then @ 250 miles its saying it only has 50-40 miles left but only gives me 20.

The cars going back to seat as its still under warranty but I doubt their diagnostic machines will find anything wrong with it.

What things should I ask them to look at? Air flow meter etc etc...

Surely fault be that bad if you couldn't feel there was a difference between 118 bhp and the standard 130 !!! The 130 is no slouch. Does sound like an air mass fault especially if performance is flat all the time (doesn't come & go).

It feels pretty quick, I've had an air flow meter go on a pinto gt turbo and it went like ****, it was un drivable.

I had this car hitting 140mph with 4 of us in the car on a slight down hill and it does feel quite smooth, just a bit flat now and then. I've raced BMW's with M3 badges (doubt. It was an M3) Modded Golf GTI's and been pretty even. It's not a slow car it's just a bit down on power and drinking too much fuel.

I'd be seriously pissed off, Know anyone in the area with VAG-Com

What would VAG-com have that seat won't have? There is a place near me.

5000 miles ago, it will be due it's big service at 40k after another 5k. Might just skip seat and take it to a VAG-com then send the bill to seat if anythings up.

VAG-Com is a bit of software companies use to asses the machines issues.
For instance if your dealers any good they'll use the tool to help diagnose the issues.
I had a remapped PD100 running at 150bhp and for the first week I drove that like a lunatic and still had 400 miles in a tank using supermarket fuel and millers.

Take it back to Seat, Tell them its down on power and its drinking diesel!

Nothing but it wouldn't cost as much :D

It's still under seats 3 year warrenty so shouldn't cost anything. Thing is I had the car in for a sticking throttle and it never came up with any fault codes, would they have not checked for things like MAF?

Sometimes all the diagnostic kit in the world wont find faults. Sometimes it is just down to how good the technician is who is looking at your car. Sound like you maybe need to ask Seat if the foreman or senior / master tech can deal with it. At least that way way you know someone with experience is handling it and if you do query the result then you know you stand a chance of speaking to an experienced person.

are you getting a lot of black smoke? this would indicate it is over-fueling, could be caused by MAF but would expect to see a constant lack of power, usually very noticeable when a MAF has failed.

Not black smoke I don't think but yes it smokes a lot when I put the foot down. When I ran it with v power with added millers there is no smoke at all.

Damn, I only got 233 miles to £40 worth of fuel this time. I've not even been heavy with
my foot, only once or twice this time. It seems to be getting worse. The trip computer says I'm getting 24mpg!!!

I'll be on the phone to seat first thing tomorrow!
