PD150 Turbo?

Hi,

I have a Fabia vRS and I'm after a PD150 turbo so I can get it hybrid but I have no idea where to get one. There's none on any forums I frequent, none on eBay, none in my local scrappies... Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get hold of one?

Most turbo companies can supply and hybrid the turbo for you, so you dont need to source one?

Turbo dynamics recomend you get new when it comes to VNT turbos

Wouldn't go to turbo dynamics tbh.....if you have a problkem(like I have had3) then they pass the buck....CR turbos have have good reviews from customers but have not been short of there problems.....my forst turbo was ordered as a stage2 they built a stage1 hybrid and someone else on here ordered a stage2 hybrid pd 150 and got a pd130 stage1 :S

no one can actually tell you the differance between a pd 150 turbo and a pd 130 turbo when i was asking about hybrids, whether i was going to send them a 150 or a 130 turbo i could still have the same power outputs because they change the bearing, change the compressor wheel (the vital bit for more boost) and machine the vains so you get faster spool up. So to me its only the casing and the vains that could be different. But they aren't apparently. So i was told when i was looking into it with several companies.

There is a lot of difference between a PD130/150 turbo as there are two makes of turbo fitted to a PD130 in the VAG range. One is a Garrett the other a KKK. A PD130 turbo has a thinner shaft which is why it cannot take so much boost plus the inlet and exhaust outlet of the turbo is smaller on a PD130 turbo then a PD150 turbo.

so how much more boost will a pd150 hybrid take over a pd130 hybrid garret? i didn't think the kkk's where on the 130's i thought they where only the 115's. but you seem to know what your talking about so i'll believe you. Can they not open out the inlet and outlet when hybiding?

I believe the boost in the 150 and 130 is the same, but the 150 flows more air......I think lol
Yeah the ibiza 130tdi come with kkk the leon 130 comes with garrett..... The 110tdi have garrett for some reason....

My old 110tdi had a garrett turbo FTW, although it was harder to tune cause of the non pd engine :(

i've just fitted my old turbo to an ibiza 130. i just had to loosten the three housing bolts and spin it round a little so the pipework would line up. That was the only difference. Both where garret.

I gues you would need more air flow to make the same boost pressure on a bigger system, given that a 150 has a front mount and a 130 has a little side mount (to start with).
