Pixie's Ibiza Cupra (Poo Fanda) *More Pix*

So for the 2nd time in 2 weeks i've been stuck :(

1st time i had a blown out tyre on the M1 went to put my spare wheel on and had no jack in there (haha) so had to wait for someone to bring me one.

Now my alternator has gone and need to get hold of one been priced £85 + vat or £105 + vat. Just depending if its 70 or 90 amp.

So all my xmas money now has to go on fixing my pap pap lol ............Typical.

Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately that is how it goes with older cars. As the things start breaking all you can do is replace them.

Damn girl!!!! Well, if you're desperate to get the car back on the road then I guess you got to cough up. We get a good discount from them as we order alot of stuff from them.

I'm not sure if your car's the same but on the tdi's we have a clutched pulley that should only engage in one direction, if it spins both ways it wont charge and can appear to be a knackered alternator but you can buy the pulley on it's own. Might be worth checking.
Also worth taking the alternator to a specialist shop, I have one near by that I use, he only charges like a £5 and he puts the alternator on this fancy machine to test it. Worth checking incase it's a stupid wiring fault.
The wires under the battery box can corrode quite badly too and also worth checking them out. (This is also on a tdi but might be worth looking into just incase)

Just a couple of things I've seen on Mk3's. :)

nice motor i only got my cupra at start of september. One thing i would strongly advise is making a cover for your ECU as it sits right at the base of the windscreen and on a lot of cupras the ECU fills with water and fries itself (like mine the other week :()

are your pro race 1.2's standard 7" or do you have the stagered fitment of 7" front and 8" rear?
