As above, VW are to enter the WRC from 2013, just spotted the article over on Autocar.

If i'm honest i think the car look great and VW would make a lot of money from just selling that bodykit or putting it on the GTi's or the R for that matter. From the front it looks very agressive and golf like, which isn't too much of a bad thing. Can see however how it may be regarded as chavvy and very OTT if the bodykit was given to a road car.

I'm not a big follower of the WRC anymore, it has been a good few years since i have watched it, but i would tune in to see if VW could knock citroen & Loeb from top spot.

1.6T based on the new FIA 'world' engine used by Skoda & soon SEAT in the WTCC

4WD is a requirement, and will fit in the transmission tunnel (as you can't cut a new one) but the rear suspension will be fabricated to mount compared to the current chassis.

Saw it on the newswires at lunchtime yesterday - looks interesting.

I am hoping this engine finds it's way to our cars, even without the 300bhp it may be more reliable than the twin charged engines......
