poor performance

i have a 2003 leaon cupra 180 bhp but at present it is not pulling anywhere near its potential as a 115 bhp golf would beat mine. done some investigating and it turns out the engine management bulb has been taken out or doesnt work and that the light is on without me knowing.anybody have any ideas why its not pulling its 180 bhp? been told it could be a split intercooler pipe.

VAG-COM is a must fella. Could have a host of problems.

Sounds like limp mode. Get your car scanned with vagcom and sort the problem. Mine was running in limp mode after fitting the Forge Split-R, was just a problem of getting the right setting. Mine's running at 0.8 bar again
