Just a small point, but having thought about your practical boot build, you haven't got the jack in there

That's gonna be really awkward if/when you get a flat lol... all that time and effort for a practical boot build keeping you spare wheel, but you've no way to jack the car up unless you carry one on the back seats

Remember if you're changing the wheel you only need to lift it up an inch or so off the ground, normally I do this by lifting the suspension arm rather than the car. As the emergency jacks are usually total c**p it allows me to have a small bottle jack stowed under one of the front seats.

Theres space for it. I've seen the build in person and think its great, there loads of little compartments where you can keep spare bulbs, locking nut key, etc

The build is going to begin :)

Got all my equipment to go into the motor which includes:
Audison SRX5 Amplifier
Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" component speakers
Rainbow Hammer 12 Subwoofer
Audison BT4-500 Phono cables
Armour Auto 4 AWG wiring kit
12 AWG speaker cable

Currently got a Alpine BT-103 HU, so will be using that to run the system.

I'm going for the inside the wheel approach, but made from MDF rings which i'm laminating together to form the enclosure. Rather than the fiber glass approach. Calculated the air space within Millimeters of the total air space required for the Hammer.

Will post some pictures up of the project.

Getting the rings CNC manufactured tomorrow.

Also heres the reason you own a Seat Ibiza:

As you can just about fit two 8ft x 2ft MDF boards. :D

4 months later & I'm pretty much completed!

Just got to do some last few adjustments & finishing touches.

The Sub Enclosure is done, the false floor is sorted, the cables are fitted.

It looks awesome & will upload some pictures tomorrow possibly :D

Sorry Aimez but please live a little :) Stop being such a safety Nazi :D

I'm attempting a ICE install myself!! But I'm having problems finding an amp. So far I think I may have an Alpine PDX-4.150 arriving on monday!! :D

4 gauge cable fit's fine. You can fit 0 gauge through that grommet. But sorry to piss on your camp fire, but won't that Audison amp be too low powered for Hertz Hi-Energy speakers?

Ash, where do you live? That looks like my house behind haha!

First off its called drive slow for 10 miles from your local B&Q. :p

F**k 0 Guage, thats over kill, Im not trying to wire street lamps up!

Audison Amps are the Business, 5 Channel SRX 5 Model is more than capable.

The Bass is pretty dirt, but the atmosphere for other types of music is brilliant! :)

I live in Northamptonshire, which isn't that close by. haha.

Will get the pictures, but going bed now as I've been out driving since 11pm & feel knackered!

i took my spare wheel out just for the sheer hell of it, couldnt be assed with the rattles from the jack kit etc, i keep a can of tyre weld in the car,

ive used it before and it works perfectly if youve got a puncture, what most people dont realize is tyre weld wont fix a torn sidewall or a proper blow out, but if its a nail or somthing it works wonders....

ive gone down the non practical route with my install but its now getting tricky as my g/f and her kids are always wanting to put stuff in the boot lol

Having a spare is worthwhile I tell you, had a blowout a while back & without the spare I would of been roadside rescue material.

Maybe I've just had bad experience with tyre weld, but it just went everywhere & didn't repair a 3mm hole!

I must admit the boot build has taken a little while to do, 4 months later was mainly due to work commitments taking over my time. But really pleased with the results :) So practical!

Hardly a safety Nazi you don't know me from adam, just don't want you to destroy your front and rear screen mate and the cops would prob pull you if they saw that for same reason!

I agree to a certain degree. But thats why you don't drive fast & brake too late.

It was literally windscreen to windscreen! haha. I got out into the car park & started to the load the car up & thought this will be close! In the end I had to use the parcel shelf as a support as this gave me maximum room i.e. 8ft board length! haha.

As I said above I would have been stranded without a spare wheel, hit a pot hole and it got bent. What you mean don't drive fast or brake late you can't stop accidents they happen and pot holes are at times unavoidable.

Yeah being stranded is no fun. I keep all the right tools in my car to change a wheel or so :)

But driving faster increases more potentials of things happening as you have less time to react & increase the chances of loosing control. Braking late would of just slammed them boards through my windscreen or cracked the glass majorly I tell you.

The answer to Potholes is to drive round them or do what my friend does in his go kart Arosa & just drive in the middle of the road! haha.

Sorry about that, I was in a bad mood.

But I've had worse than that in my car, if you drive like a total c**k you will pay for it. Like Ash said, avoid potholes, early braking and no sharp movements. I very much doubt the coppers would pull you. They aren't bothered as long as it doesn't restrict your view.
