Problem with engine management light

I have recently just fitted a new EGR valve to my seat ibiza FR and this has not solved the problem of my car I was then told by an auto spark if that was not the EGR valve it must be the black solenoid box that sit above the drivers strut. So I just received the solenoid valve block yesterday and fitted it. Still the engine management still is on. I don't know what else it could be. Starting to think maybe a wire or the loom might be broke. If someone else has/had this problem I would be grateful for solution.

Best bet is to run a diagnostics test on it. Do you, or anyone you know, have a full copy of VCDS/VAGCOM? If not, might be worth posting in the VAG-COM & Diagnostics area/thread to see if anyone can pop over and lend a hand (here - http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104).
