SEAT dealers came 13/13 I believe in the Autocar survey.

I am going to go to another one after the fiasco of the additional rear light (see other thread) the front bumper being wrecked by the technician whilst rectifying a parking sensor and today doing the recall without permission. Please sir we need to remove your non standard Tax disc holder. I'll do it!!

I don't want them within 20 miles of my car again.

SEAT UK CS are your only hope. They've been good with me and I'll give you another tip. There is a big cheese who sits on the board at VAG in Milton Keynes, who manage SEAT UK too. Alison Jones - Customer Quality Manager- bought in to sort out the problem of Customer Care and quality. I wrote to her about the DSG gearbox recall and in under 24 hours they were all hoping about. An excellent resolution followed.

They also looked at my gearbox fault and supposedly ordered a selector, to be honest I think im going to go to another dealer even though it will mean a 70 to 80 mile round trip. Another call to CS Monday or maybe an email to a big cheese;) don't suppose anybody has an email address.

Hey guys, I've taken my car back to the garage twice now and it seems that after taking the trim off and screwing things tighter that nothing changed, ie it still rattled and made a horrible noise in the trim. Anyway, I spoke to an audio company called sextons in Portsmouth and he said that soundproofing the doors would be expensive but would also unlikely fix the problem completely. He recommended I try a normal audio cd and see if it's still occurred. Strangle enough it was the same cd, Kings of Leon that I use through spotify and Jesus what a difference. No rattles and the music sounded much better quality wise. So, I logged back in spotify and changed in the settings, music steam quality and download to extreme quality rather than normal, and my God, it's 100 times better than before. Hopefully this works for many others. Let me know

I ve had all the TPI's done and put the car back to Seat Fife yesterday for I think the 4th time now for this issue. In fairness they were great and road tested with me, identified the rattle and then took my car in for repair. End of day I get a call to pick it up again and went on a test. Couldnt get it to rattle so thought job done.

Drove to work this morning and overnight the rattle returned.

Seriously considering selling this car. My trim has been removed so often I fear its all loose. I really dont have the heart to call them up again today as they really have tried to fix this. I feel now im losing this battle with the rattles.

Will call them tomorrow and get the car valued for resale. However these guys have tried their best and have been brilliant to deal with. At the end of the day though I aint happy with this car at all. Shame as it drives brilliantly.

It's the end of the door or A pillar or the air vent. They think it's the air vent (or at least in that area). I honestly can't tell because I can't get it to stop by pressing or pulling on stuff.

When it was in last they took A pillar trim off and test drove it. Dismissed the A pillar and then did something behind the vent, I'm not clear what. Test drive after that was ok though.

It is more intermittent now but just as loud when it kicks off.

i sound proofed my doors , which fixed the rattles and improved sound quality
i used felt to to stop any A pillar rattles and the ends of the dash

buy a can of sillicone spray and spray any joint`s where plastics meet.

all cars rattle , even a 50k mercedes !

only rattle i need to fix is around the speedo, but that only happens on really rough tarmac.

What sound proofing material did you use. How was is it to remove the door. Also did you take any pictures of before and after etc.

doors cards come off in 5 mins , simple

just buy a pack of these as you are likely to break some.

i bought 3 of these

and some foam padding

i might take the two back speakers out too and sound proof those panels too

also put some foam padding in the boot well as that is an area that can vibrate if you have the spare wheel and sub, the plastic sub enclosure can rattle on the inside of the wheel, so i put some foam pads on the bottom of that too

i have yet to buy a car that did not rattle , i always end up taking them apart LOL have to say though the cls did rattle less and that was eight years old , i guess the carpet being about 2 inches thick helped :)

I might get the dealer to remove the door cards and the A pillar trim. I can then drive around for a couple of days with the trim off to locate the cause. Would be my luck that its the trim itself lol.

Has anyone done the fix on the air vent? I dont know if people are going on about the vent that faces the driver ot the vent on top of the dash that points to the roof/window.

Thanks

Two weeks in and my door cards creak and a rattle around the passenger tweeter.
My mark 1 had a few which I fixed. My mark 2 had none in six years.
Now where's my tool box?

Had my car booked i for it's first service today which I was going to wait with, but got a call yesterday to rebook for next week as Seat want to tear my door cards off while it's in for service to address the rattle issues.

I have had no issues with rattles so far, so I hope they don't rattle when I get it back.

Oh and if you think the rattles are bad on the Mk3 Leon you should hear this Ibiza, it would seriously drive me insane, sounds as though the dash isn't bolted in. Maybe that's their plan give me a car with worse rattles than mine and they won't have to fix it.

Meppershall Beds.
I know my hearing's crap, but the only rattle I seemed to have was when the sunroof blind was all the way back.
roll it forward 6 inches and it went away.
dreading my first service now, in case they try to fix a problem I haven't got, and introduce a new one!
enjoy the loan cupra, Mick:)
