rcd 310 headunit

I have been given a rcd 310 radio, want to change from the stock one i have.
Question is would it drain my battery as i have been told it might do so.
I wont be hooking it up to the steering wheel contols

What year is your leon?

I think very early 2007 and before you would need to change the canbus as you would get battery drain.

Why not get an rcd510 as it should be a straight swap and your steering wheel controls would still work if you're not fussed about sat nav...

Thank you mine is a 56 plate so will have to change the canbus
I havent really looked into them as it was given to me, but ill defo have a look
