My rear alignment bolts are seized so I'm fitting new arms and bolts, lower arm is easy enough to chop out, but does anyone have any tips or a guide to get the upper arm off??

I'm guessing it needs to be cut out but access is pretty bad, even with springs and shocks removed.

Any tips??

I had a nightmare of a time when I was doing my polybushes on my mk2 leon. My inner lower arm bolts were destroyed. I had to remover complete rear subframe which I was surprised at how easy it came off.

Is it a big job you were tackling that would justify taking subframe off? I was doing every bush do for me it was.

There's a lot more access to get in to work on it. I've attached a picture of mine off.

I came to the same conclusion last night, subframe off and access would be no issue.
Good opportunity to get the wire wheel out, remove the rust and give it a new lick of paint

All I wanted to do was replace a couple of alignment bolts!!!!

Perfect excuse to get the polybush kit fitted . I had a nightmare of a time trying to cut the inner lower arm bushes out and save the bolts. Lots of wd40 and heat.

Remember you will need to get the alignment sorted out after refitting subframe.

Don't want the harshness of polybushes, have got new arms going in though so it'll be much better than it was.

Will probably polybush the ARB though, but what size does a Facelift FR take - there seem to be a few size options.

I accidentally ordered black series bushes for mine, to be fair there not the worst.

I don't know what size they are, I've got a pre facelift.

Yea those bolts are hard in there, I just bought fresh ones to save the hassle.
I got one out without having to resort to the grinder. The amount of corrosion in there is mad, no wonder they don't come out.

Yeah definitely, I couldn't get the bolts for about 10 days. So I had to hack the bushes, cut, turn, hack, cut turn etc to remove the bolts. They cleaned up good though and managed to get proper adjustment for fast road set up.

What's your plans for alignment?

10 days?? Wow I don't have that kind of patience, dropped the subframe and cut them out in a few minutes.

Going to refurb the subframe, fit new arms and bolts then drive straight to the alignment place.
Will just get the stock alignment settings put on, mrs will mostly be driving it anyway.
