Relative performance between 290 and 300

I was wondering if there is actually any power difference between the 19 plate 290 and the 300 st. Is the mapping different?

Also apart from a standing start shouldn’t a 290 be quicker the a 300 st as it’s alot lighter? Does anybody have any figures for midrange performance.

A rolling start the 290 would edge it due to the weight difference, engines will be identical

Based on the 290 recording 1/10th of a second slower to 100 than the 300 in a test, I'm guessing there will be a similar result against a 300ST.

Good point. There's some magazine, Autocar?, that insists on racing cars against bikes and they load the bike with the fattest bike tester I've ever seen plus a weeks worth of pies.
He's got to be worth an extra second over the quarter.
