The only remote engine start I know of is based on installed aftermarket alarms. Just remember not to leave your car in gear when you park up!!

probably as its illegal.

It is technically illegal to get out of a car and leave it running if you use remote start or not.

I thought that remote start was only allowed on automatics, (as they wont start unless you are in 'park') and even then there is arguments over its legality as you are not in control of the vehicle.

Im not sure insurance would cover any issues, im sure it would invalidate it if there was any problem at all, eg fire, theft, leaving it in gear and the car running over the next door neighbour..

I'm going to have to mention that to our neighbour with his Impreza. Having a rumbling exhaust running for ten minutes after he's gone in the house is just plain annoying!
