I would be interested to find out as well. I just purchased a pre-may 2015 cupra 280 and would love to upgrade the head unit for one with full link. I presume the wiring loom is the exact same? The only difference is the location of the usb connectors but I'm sure they would have the same head unit connection.

I wonder if the head unit should fail for some "bizarre" reason would they replace it under warranty with the newer model as full link is now standard?

On a similar note would one of these pioneer units work in a mk3?

It might be even if it does you will loose all of the functions of the current head unit. Things like the car modes and any of the car setup functions.

The linked headunit works out at approx £427, that's quite a bit of cash ! especially if it does not support all the features that the factory fitted unit does.

Is it able to receive DAB ?

What exactly is this head unit is it genuine headunit is there any pictures of it. Do you just connect it up or do Seat need to do some thing as well. I was told at the start that they could enable android auto in my car for around 130 pounds but after they took it in. Realise I had the wrong head unit. My unit has nav.

would so love get android auto

As I said earlier, if you can get a reply from them best of luck. I've tried as well as another member on here has as well all to no avail.

Just wondering if there's a member on here who could see if they are actually still in business and based where their web page say's they are located ?

I see from their web page that they've an office in Chicago USA also, but if ordered from there then customs duty might be a problem etc.

I'm really tempted to just buy the MY16 headunit and box that goes in the glovebox. my guess is the wiring is exactly the same. literally swap both parts out and in.

my theory anyway haha

The 'box' is the headunit. The screen is just that, a screen.

You wouldn't known until you try, they might be coded to each car.

Ie if one got stolen could they be swapped between cars, unlikely these days of course.

Can you code them yourself or with a third party? If not can't you just pay your local dealer if you can prove the parts were legitimately bought (e.g. through their parts department)?

Beyond my knowledge. Considering my dealer could only code some of a long list I wanted so i used someone on here to code with vag com (which dealers don't have) it's unlikely. Even what they could code with their system seat 'won't give us the codes' is all I got, end of.

Buy it on the provision they code it... i suspect most dealers won't want to or can't.

I'd love to be proven wrong!
