Replacement keys

Hey all,
New here to the forum after I bought a Seat Altea 1.9tdi, I thought it a good idea to join a group in case I needed support.

When I bought the car (2009 - 59 plate) it only had one key (flipper with 3 buttons), so I'm looking to add a second for a spair.

I've read quite a bit about this but still have some questions.

I've got the part number for the 3 button central locking, so I can get that part working by pairing/programming with the key i have, but getting concise information about programming the transponder is a bit less clear.

Does anyone have links to a guide or have the steps needed to program a virgin chip?

If I'm going to buy readers etc I want to make this a one shot deal and not have the back and forth and frustration.

Any help/advice is welcome

TIA
Steve

OK i can see that I need the SKC code.
What is the best way to get this. I read VAG Tacho is a common tool, however I'm uncelar if this will work on a 2009 model.

If it doesn't, what tool is best to extract the SKC PIN?

TIA
Steve
