Retrofit Facelift FR Steering Wheel to Pre Facelift?

Fitted steering wheel but have slight issus

Fitted flat bottom steering wheel with new canbus moduel, steering module, slip ring
Most of it works ok but, cruise control has a problem and I can not get the button with the telephone to work on steering wheel, the phone connects ok and works
Any ideas anyone

You should have copied the settings on your old canbus before you replace it with vag.com
you now need to program the module and the cruse control

I did copy the settings of the old can bus I have coded this new one in

it did work for me, I upgraded my Leon with fr facelift steering wheel, canbus and control unit, it shows some fault lights but after clearing with vag cruise and all was working fine, just make sure the part numbers are correct ones including the slip ring, I no longer have this leon mk2 but the instructions is some where in forum

Iam happy owner on SEAT LEON 1P1.8TSI 2008 prefacelift with MFS.
I have bought cupras facelift steering whee as shown in the photos.

I am in search for an airbag at the moment plus trying to sort out every other module to be ready for the installation process + coding.

The list of things need to be changed is the same for the cupras MFS as is with FR’s?


MFSW Airbag Harness p/n 1K0 971 584 C

MFSW Control Module p/n 1K0 953 549 CH

Collector slip ring 1K0 959 653 C

CAN-BUS 7N0907530AF

couple morequestions:

Is it possible to use existing slip ring? Is it compatible? If I tape it to prevent it to move during the swap?

where is CAN-BUS 7N0907530AF locates?

what steps I need to follow to copy in VCDS existing canbus steering wheel settings before swap the new one?I need to done it one by one manually orthere is a backup restore feature possible? I’m not vagcom expert but can do couple things.

Not sorted this yet. Bought the CAN-BUS MODULE going to fit it in this week. Hopefully that gets rid of the power steering.

Everything has been sorted on my car. Steering wheel works without any problems. I had the power steering issue but after the angle sensor was coded correctly it works perfectly. If you need any help im more than happy to help

Did you have to upgrade to the CH module an all that? I have just bolted the wheel up and used it without a horn or airbag.

The airbag wiring is the same to be fair as the pfl.

Yep the module is 1K0 953 549 CH. Make sure to code the sensor at it will need calibrating, without that power steering will be heavy.

I managed to work out the horn wiring by adding an additional earth but to get it all working you need a CH module.
