It's a grey-area. The idea is unless your handbrake is on, you can't use the display. Why? Because driving with the display out and up is illegal.

Handbrake applied = parked?

Wire the cable to any ground. Et voila.

(Had to do this with a number of Alpine units over the years).

Hey,

Was very close to getting the same unit, but to be honest mate, they are not really any good!

I opted for a Sevic one. Got it on fleabay for ~ £140

http://www.sevic.com/site/_en_catalogue_sevic_fiche.php?id_catalogue=66

I just installed the unit normally and it's powered through an amp. No need to connect to the handbrake!
It depends on what you want to view? I can still watch dvd's whilst on the move and all my music dvd's too :)

Not sure if watching TV is the same though. I don't have an Aerial attached so cannot comment on that one.

Hope this helps a wee bit!
Cheers.

I listen a lot of music in my car. I think audio devices are a classic example of the whole, "You get what you pay for" phrase. Hence why I'd be wary of paying less than £300 for ANY headunit..

For one with a screen.. I'd cringe at paying less than 5.
