Roof aerial change

Has anyone changed the base for the roof aerial.

I had a Honda aerial and the signal started to go. Put the original back on on its not any better. I think the Honda one and the base were corroded at the threads so may have to change the base.

I was thinking of changing mine to the ones they have on the new golf, its like a fin type.

i had to have mine replaced under warranty i found a guide on my gti .com as the golf is in essence the same car hope it helps

mine cousin bought a small 1 for his before , seat leon stylance, and his signal went so he put his orignal 1 back on

I changed to the Honda one when I got the car 3yrs ago and its been fine......until now..........with the warranty just expired.

Does anyone know if there's a control box under the seat for the aerial? Seen it mentioned on a Golf forum.
