Rubbish brakes

Ok done a search, and none really match my problem. Not had the car long, it came with TT brakes. The discs and pads where badly needing changed so i put the rubbish brakes down to this. Brand new discs and pads all round still rubbish!

They feel not bad when braking from high speed, but always feel like im not going to stop at junctions when travelling >30mph

My Cooper S had only 260mm discs and stopped much better....

Suggestions? :(

Bleed the system, there may be air in it? My girlfriends car had the same sort of thing. A brake fluid bleed and change sharpened things right up.

Ok after swapping the vacuum pump, and almost ordering a new servo and master cylinder at £170, I just fixed the problem. Turns out it was a split hose between the checkvalve and Servo!

Case closed :D
