Nice work , you got some more info on how to do the connections on the back of the unit and exactly what materials you used ?

Thanks

I am. Yet I still need to evaluate the complexity of the task, especially the wiring between front and rear, bumper removal and drilling, etc. I am especially worried about if bumper reinstallation would be a tight fit again or there is risk of loosening clips. What do you think?

Don't be afraid of the work. I am not workmanlike, but I've done it! :)

All clearances will fit like before, there is one screw each side to adjust the clearance. It's very flexible, dont worry.

I will check, what the shippingcosts are, i will produce some RVC cable-kits.

Regards

Well that was a struggle!

I've finally done it. Taking the bumper off and drilling is fairly simple (obvs you have to take the rear lights off)

When you have done that, you'll see a little vent flap on the passengers side, this is where I've routed the cable. (you have to lift open the carpet in the boot).

Ive done it in the ST so I've powered it by the rear 12v. You then have to rip out all the plastic to lay the cable to the dash. You've then got to take the cd player out and remove the blue clip. Then add a repair wire to both 6 and 12 (there is small numbering on the corners)

The red one is the video feed, the black cable is the earth (red 6, black 12).

The issue I'm having though is its upside down, so I'm trying to change that via vcds

Does anybody know is it possible to calibrate the gird lines ?
I am planning to buy camera which will fit to plate light, but then most probably the lines will be little bit off

Drill the bumper, that's how they come from the factory. And the grid on the 801 or 802 (depending on when you buy) can not be changed.

Would this be an expensive job to pay someone to do,

I have the RNS-315 SEAT Media 2.2 system i think. Would this be doable .?

My coding 4 RVC. MY late 2014 (April)

vehuje6e.jpg

A forum member looked at coding my camera today, we found on this option my car had Bit 1,2 and 7 already ticked/selected and VCDS warned us of selecting Bit 4... we didn't risk it yet....

Any ideas?

Hi guys! As far as I understand, the car should have the OPS installed at the first place in order to operate the camera. Was someone successful in installing OPS into a car that lacks it?
If yes, then can you please give me a direction where to look at?
I mean all that wiring, and programming stuff.
Thanks!

As far as I know you don't have to have OPS to install the camera and make it work :)

But AFAIU the reverse camera video is displayed as the background for OPS, no?

The red one is the video feed, the black cable is the earth (red 6, black 12).

Guys, what does 'video feed' mean? These are not regular video jacks?
So, the video should go out from camera in some format or be converted afterwards by some converter? Will smb explain me that?
