Anybody else get one of these? I was surprised to get anything like this for a 10yr old car.

10points to Seat for customer care!

Thought I should post it here to let you guys know.

I got one today, quite gobsmacked as you say for a 10 yr old car- and I'm the umpteenth owner!

I got one for the donor Arosa but not for the Midget - called them anyway and they've asked me to bring mine in too to be checked as it's not listed as being done.

Impressed they managed to track me down, as I got the donor from a private seller and it's since been scrapped!

I don't know Luke - I got a notice about the green donor, but I've not got one yet for the red Midget.... I called SEAT anyway though in case they just hadn't got a letter to me yet and they seemed to think mine was also affected, although it is the same engine and almost exactly the same age as the green one.

I was told to drop my car in they never checked any details. Think I might be calling the dealership again tomorrow. Dont fancy a 20 mile drive to Hastings to find out theres nothing wrong. Or I might be better off getting them to check I guess - can never be too carefull :D

Well if the wheels been turning for ten years dunno why they should stop now, or should I say shouldn't stop.

Might just be an excuse to get you to go in so they can find many other things wrong with it light dirt on the windscreen, LOL :p

Recall Details
Concern : BRAKE VACUUM SUPPLY PIPE CONCERN
Description : On Arosa vehicles in the affected chassis number range tension cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo in the area of the connections of the pipes because of a manufacturing fault. If a vacuum pipe leaks, the brake servo loses its function. Without the servo assistance a lot more force must be used on the pedal. But this will not lead to a failure of the brake system
Remedial Action : The fitted vacuum pipes will be checked and if necessary replaced.

Midget went in this morning to have his checked - they were replaced and he was returned clean and hoovered in about an hour :) I suspect they may have also adjusted my clutch cable and handbrake while he was in as they feel tighter.

There was a V reg Lime Yellow one in at the same time, but it belonged to an elderly couple who seemed to be thinking about trading it in (tutut) so I doubt they are on here.

Same here.... So they must have sent the letters out to ALL Arosa owners regardless of recall notices then?

I did not get a letter, i only found out about it through this thread.

The fault may have only been on a certian spec or engine.

don't you get a sticker in the boot if it's already been recalled?

i was stripping my old polo and it had a vw sticker in the boot saying 'servo recall' and the date with a number written on it.

my girlfriends went in monday. she sat waiting for 45 mins for them to say it's faulty we will order the part in and give you a call when we get it. To say she wasn't happy is a understatement, they reckon it will take 30 mins to fit the new part but 45 mins to work out if it's faulty???
