So I picked up this Cupra TDi on the 21/12/2018 for just a little wedge of £500, it needed work because the radiator has popped, it had been sat under a tree (Proven fact, tree sap protects paint) for a year, if not a little longer, the previous owner I think gave up with the car, I'm not too sure, but anyway, I picked up this 174,000 mile gem for MEGA cheap and for that £500, the repairs and money involved, well I didn't mind because the car is worth triple that.

Up first came the car delivery, this was only the second time I'd seen this car so I knew what state it was in from seeing it when I first looked into buying it. (Waited it out to get it cheaper, it worked too)

As you can tell, had my work cut out for me on this thing, but I like a challenge, so broke out the trusty old jet wash, a wish mitt, snow foam lance and let the work start on turning this car from a dirty nail, into a road car once again, time to give back to this car after it had been sat for ages.

Here's where I showed this car some love.

Amazing what a simple wash can do, still not clean enough for me so went over it with a clay bar, rinsed it and dried it off before working on the mechanical side of things..... Here's the photos of that.

The current plans for Beefa are:
Repair body work
Change all bulbs to LED's (these ones on front are junk)
AWD system (eventually)
Change clutch (this one is getting dead)
AD08R Tires
Alloy refurb (in black)
Lower the car a tad
Tinted rear windows
Hybrid turbo
Bigger front mount
Better discs and pads
and whatever else I find to do along the way

Repairs so far:
Radiator
Brakes all around
Brake pipe (rear drivers)
Front wiper motor
Power Steering
ESP System
Wheel bearing
Window Regulator (nearside)

But that was about it, near enough had all the parts I needed to repair it from the Audi, some needed a slight mod done to them to make them work but it's all sorted and it passed it's MOT so can't really complain at that. Watch this space, all the rust this car has, it's going, all the clear coat that's peeled, it's getting repaired, I think that'll be first on my list to sort (easy jobs first right?) so keep locked and see how this awesome little car turns out.

I forget to get the other photos of everything else but got a photo of it in for it's MOT and it passed. No more coolant leak, no more messed up brakes, all came back perfectly fine minus 1 tire been close to legal limit, so yeah.....

I needed to move my A3 so... Towed it with Beefa, lol. Anyway say a rough selfie? Here it is.

The Audi is having it's AWD system ripped off it so I can fit it to Beefa at some point in the future because having the front wheels break traction every chance it gets is pretty boring when trying to murder BMW's and stuff..... Not fun.

Well what can I say, I was nearly sick in my mouth seeing the state of the hood when you bought it lol I'm so glad you got it as it looks great now!

Hope everything goes well and you turn it into a worth car like it should be.

I see you've put up many photos but you may want to look at blanking out your reg as we have had previous reports a long time a go of them being stolen from pictures.

Looking forward to the AWD conversion should be fun!

Yeah man, didn't think of blanking reg plate, I'll get some made up that day Beefa just for show and photo purposes, cars a great car don't get me wrong, it's just slow AF, previous owner claims 230BHP it's mapped too but yeah.... no proof, but it ain't 160 I bet you on that, used to scare me, after an hour I wanted more from it, lol, that's why AWD is happening, so I can get extra power without the hassle of spinning it away, I love the car, it's great, not cheap though, burns more diesel than I dunno what. Currently has no air filter (dead rat was in air box and ate the paper filter, lol)

Quick update, today I'm pulling the AWD system off the Audi today or as much as I can, gearbox, shafts, propshaft, rear diff and the loom, might pull engine loom as well incase there's more in that for the AWD system. I'll have to cut the floor out of the Audi or at least the tunnel for the propshaft as there is a little difference in them. Rear brake calipers are getting rebuilt ready to be fitted to Beefa as I think Beefa's has a problem (handbrake goes up a lot before it starts to bite, like loads of cable slack) rear brakes them self is fine but still. Just thought I'd update this and let you guys know what's happening.

So had tracking done on Beefa, came back 3mm out on nearside front so that got sorted, car feels so much better now, but also when looking under the car, the rear offside spring looked like it was sat funny, checked other side and it was sat weird, checked it and the spring that's sat funny has snapped so I'm gonna buy some 25mm lowering springs and replace them all way round with new top mounts...

You'll see photos and stuff of that fun job, lol. Me And spring compressors don't really go together that well, haha, I've had them almost kill me before, lol

Not having much luck at the moment with this car, all minor little farty things wrong with it, door panels have been sorted and no longer rattle, handbrake tightened up to find out the rear calipers are seized (Little arm where return spring sits on to pull arm back) so Audi rear calipers are going on Beefa till I've rebuilt these ones (£52 off eBay for all new seals, pistons and slider pins) also got Ceratec grease already so don't need to buy that. But slow progress at the minute guys, I'll be uploading some photos of the progress and other stuff I'm doing with the car, but at the moment I'm gonna focus on pulling the AWD system off the Audi and cut out the floor pan on the Audi and use that as a little mock up for the tunnel in Beefa when I AWD swap this. Other hand though, it makes a sweet noise when you let off the gas to change gear, like a petrol with a blow off valve (everything has been checked, car is fine, no leaks, no broken hoses or anything)

But it's getting there, I'll be uploading some photos later on.

2.0 or 1.9? Looks good after the wash, that was some grim paintwork.

If it’s just been mapped I’d be surprised if it was up to 230bhp, the map on the standard turbos won’t normally go that high for fear of the turbo Self destructing.

The upgrades will make it really quick though, I’ve got 2.0tdi and I’m hoping to push it to about 300bhp, but first step is turbo and map with induction kit that will take it to around 235, the injectors are the limiting factor.

Worth looking at what Darkside Developments do.. some insane diesel stuff on there.

1.9 pal and yeah cars been tweaked a little looking at it more, turbo looks new? Not sure if stock or replaced but bòost kicks in stupid early (1,300 to 1,500RPM) car it self is quick for most people and kills loads of things but yeah, too slow for me and Darkside are awesome, gonna put an order I'm with them soon but first sorting the problems out and then onto mods. I'll get it on the rollers to find out the true power it doesn't have.

So Beefa is currently not been used, there's a HUGE knock coming from the front left but I've ordered all the parts I needed for it, springs, shocks, top mounts (for the cupra) ball joints, drop links, new tires (I shredded these) few stupid small things (LEDS for footwell and dome light) new panel filter (green cotton) rest of stuff I find I'll just fly to Euro Car Parts to collect them when I can if need be, I ordered all parts I think I need and some for preventative measures, never can be too sure with cars.

Also getting a new car as a run around while Beefa is off road getting work done, plus I've always wanted one. Buying a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fè 2.7 Petrol Auto just simply as a car to get around in, yes I WILL be changing things on that. Reason for, fit a tow bar and I can have a track project too which is a win win as I already have a car trailer jusy no car to tow it (Lol story of my life) but Beefa will be sorted next week at some point.

My Leon had a real bad knock and it was drop links, sounded horrendous! I thought something was going to fall off!!

Good news if its got a new turbo, that would explain over 200bhp... I bet its a right laugh! Depending on the turbo you will be able to get more out of it should you want,

I will upload photos at some point, I keep saying this but always end up busy so never get time. That's a mix of work, Beefa, car shopping, parts shopping, daddy duties and seeing the misses, lol.

Its a hard balance isnt it! lol! If i could get paid without working that would be ideal... ha!

Still ain't finished yet man, got loads of things to do to it, PM me, can pop over anytime you want man, happy to have a local ish members to talk to in person, never know when it's on road can always convoy to a few car events.

At moment I got clutch, clutch slave cylinder, springs, drop links, ball joints, change all brake fluid, detail the car, clean interior, full paint work detail, refurb the alloys, remove the stupid DPF and a few other small things to do on it. But yeah, should get there at some point, I mean tomorrow I'm probs gonna have a full day thrash on it and see how much I can get done with it.
