We talking the 310 or 315?
I think my 310 did but it was only major roads.
I got a card off ebay for £30 that got full UK and European roads.
You using the cd or sd card? Does it say on that?
I think if you hold down setup for 10 seconds then click into versions (I think) does it tell you if you scroll to the bottom?

I guess a good test would be to put a random French address in on your sat nav and see what it comes up with... See if you can change the country. 
Could you possibly take a picture of the settings screen (you will need to scroll down using the middle scroll thing)
To get to it just hold down the Setup button for 10 seconds and then select Versions using the middle wheel thing.
I'm pretty sure the RNS315 part number ended in D like yours. If so yours is better so wouldn't worry lol
But you will need to know what model you have to buy an updated map (I got mine from the Bay for £36)
