FOR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. Dealer has driven the car and a litre of oil has burnt in 500 miles which is way over the oil onsumption the dealer can not find a leak and has as advised if they can't find the problem. They will return.the car how is this possible to return seat approved car with a major issue like this.

Any advise seat UK are advising to the dealer investigate further b

Just one thing, are you sure that your engine is a twin turbo, is it not a single turbo engine as it is only a 150PS output - and so a completely different beast to the twin charger that has/had all the issues?

Code CAVF. as opposed to CAVE (the 180PS one). I think @RUM4MO is referring to the newer EA211 motor.

According to this link all models 140PS and above have the Supercharger and the Turbo.

The twin-charged engines are known for high oil consumption - in fact they'd probably get chucked out of a current Formula One race on those grounds (Oil Burning has been clamped down and severely limited in the last 12 months in F1)

No, I was just unaware that the lower powered cars needed twin charging to get 150PS out of a 1.4 engine, I initially started my posting along the lines of "do you not know that these twin charger engines can be very problematic - blah blah" just in case the OP was completely in the dark about their history.

BTW, Ferrari F1 engines would never be found to using too much oil would they as they are more important that anything else in FI.

Edit:- so that engine type is known to burn oil, okay, but I'd expect that SEAT UK could help the dealer resolve that issue, as surely other cars with that engine will have been sorted out - new or newer type pistons and rings or just new piston rings and a bore scrubbing?
