Seat Ibiza 2009 1.4 low mpg!!

I recently bought a seat Ibiza 2009 1.4 and the mpg I get is around 24mpg, I was wondering if anyone else had that problem and how they fixed it. Also I get around 80 miles with £20 of petrol which is terrible for a small car.

I’ve had the service done today and there was small improvement for the mpg from 24 to 27mpg.

do you know (trust) what was done? did they read the codes or pass comment on anything?

Yeah I trust the people as they are family friends also I watched them service my car.
