Hi All.
I've been troubled with the problem- electric windows, central locking, interior lights, remote locking, boot open light coming on faintly on my Seat Leon year 2000 for a few weeks now and it is really mind-boggling. Indie auto technician said it is the CCM with part number 1JO 959799 S with three sockets which I am currently struggling to get. Is there any part number alternative to this?. Are the parts interchangeable?. Only yesterday while going through the threads on this forum I found out that disconnecting and reconnecting the battery can do the trick, so I tried it and it worked!, but only for five minutes and then stopped working. Any ideas as to why this is?. Any kinda help will be appreciated please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. (by the way, i'm a newbie on this forum). Thanks

I'm not sure if they are a direct plug and play if they are different numbers, or vag com is needed to pair them up.

My CCM has part number 1CO 959799 F with 2 sockets and have no idea if it would work or not seeing as its different numbers :(

There are different CCM as some have the windows feature on the remote (later cars) and mine doesn't (2001).

All you can do is try the spare one you get.

LEE,

Thanx for you help

It was myke the thread starter that was asking about the CCM.....and i thought maybe the one out of my rolled 52 plate LC would fit his car seeing as he has been having probs :)

but myke hasnt been back on to reply so maybe he has found the exact part :)

Thanks, Lee and Kev for your imputs. I very finally got the exact CCM for my car yesterday, paying top dollar for it from abroad. Unfortunately, the problem persists- meaning it isnt CCM problem. Now I can only connect the driver side electric window switch (connecting both sides means it wont work) which only works for a few minutes after the ignition is on. 5-10 minutes down the road, it stops working. The remote central locking, interior lights etc still dont work. I've been skinned by this problem and reached my wit's end. I'm now thinking it might be the battery, which i intend to change. Any further imputs/advice please before this seemingly endless pit drain me even further?. Cheers

myke,

not good dude :wtf:

Am out of ideas as f00kin hate electris with a passion......might sound stupid but has there been any major water leaks in car....perhaps shorted out window motor or water in connections due to water leaks in the doors or even trapped wires going from drivers door in to the A posts ?

best get it to a car sparky i reckon as u maybe chasing your tail for a while

My lock fix

This is my first post and I had the same thing happen to my FR windows came down every time I opened the door and locks would go crazy untill the auto locks kicked in when driving.
My problem was my mirrors stopped working when they fold in I dont know why maybe i span the dial the wrong way but one morning i tried them again and they worked and some how it fixed the window/lock issue. dont have a clue why but made my day.

Have you tried using the key to open the windows.

Put the key in the drivers door lock, turn it to unlock and hold it there, the windows should go down.

To close the windows, hold the key in the lock position.

It could determine if the switches are faulty. If you have access to VCDS then get the CCM scanned for errors.

Same issue

Hi people
I drive a 54 LCR. Having a similar issue. Tried to put some leds in my boot to replace the original light but when returning the original bulb all the interior lights went out, the central locking only works to UNLOCK but not LOCK the car and the remote central locking windows and electric mirrors are completely dead. I know the interior light fuse is broken but I dont see how this has stopped the other things working. If anyone elses fuse has gone and all this has happened please let me know
NOTE i did use my key to remove the buld and im scared by running a life through the key iv destroyed something. The car drives and turns on fine but rather worried as iv only had the car a few months :(

You want to replace fuse 14 or 38 or both. The key will work again but you have to reprogramme it by putting it in the door, turn right and press the unlock button. That should sort you out. With mine all the break lights stopped working too lol All fixed now though :)
