i only have the lower one too, the upper requires drilling :S not happy about that.

Mikey, they have lots of people recommended to them by me, so they all know me lol
Nadine didnt mention it, one of the chaps in parts did.
Apparently they have had all of the skoda peeps in recently for the ibiza strut-brace cos it fits their cars too!

Anyway, must not hijack the thread! Sorry

Ah cool :) I'm there early on Friday to sort a dash rattle plus to get the courtsey car as I need a car for my job - particularly when's the terrible Portsmouth NHS and their IT dept.

You going to Thuruxton?

I look forward to trying the car after the lower strut brace :)

Today I drilled big holes, and fittet the upper strut brace. The trick with using nuts/screws from lover brace worked fine! No need for jacking up the car and fiddeling whit entering screws... Will test drive tomorrow! :)

Edit: And take some pictures withing this week...

More pics.

Had to bend the attachement thing for the bonnet lifter somewhat out/up to fit it.

Wow - thats cool. Who do you talk to to get ur stuff fitted? Just interested to see who helps you out... I really cannot recommend Kings in Portsmouth - i know other people have doubts/issues but they are just so friendly and helpful to me.

They mucked up my time with fitting the dash and forgot the strut brace, so Mark in the end took the car back and got it fitted and then said "no charge" :) Yes indeed very friendly bunch as they also turned on the anti hijack feature - Kings Southampton wouldn't do that. "It's impossible to change that once it's left the factory" ???? So for servicing the car is going to Kings Portsmouth otherwise Meadens of Sway.

I fitted my lower brace today.

Just a few points:

Yes - they send the wrong washers out - they're too small.

The brace has an elongated slot at one end. Elongated slots = adjustment, or in this case play - so I figured the bolts needed to be really tight. If they're not tight enough, you have play in the bar - which renders it useless.

Fortunately I had some other suitable washers (since there's no way I'd torque up a bolt without one.) I did a search here but didn't manage to find a figure.

I initially took each side up to 60 lb/ft but then I thought there's not a lot going to go wrong if I bust the Riv nuts - just a matter of getting some more - so I took them up to 75 lb/ft. Nice and tight. :D

oh hang on, not sure if we are talking upper or lower here.
Lower - should do if undertray is not present - or remove tray to fit.
Upper - it seems that the tdi engines sit a fair bit higher, but thats only what i have read on here.
