Just bought the ibiza (2013) model. The navy unit is missing. Looking on ebay, I see plenty of them, some saying they are for particular models ie citigo, mii etc.
Are they model specific? Do I need one from the same year?
I take it, it would be a lot of work. If even possible to change head unit as there are buttons under the radio, hazards etc?

Yes, they are model-specific. Get the Parts Department at your nearest SEAT dealership to check the exact model you need against your VIN, then you'll know which one to order.

Tbh, not interested in the GPS, just the Bluetooth functionality.
When you say it is model specific, does that include year as well?
Have seen one from a 14 plate ibiza, mine is a 63 plate.

I think he had a duff one. Ours was faultless.

There's a big thread on here about customising the display too.

Older units were made by Navigon, newer ones by Garmin. I don't know exactly when the changeover took place, which is why it's worth getting a definitive answer based on your VIN rather than keep speculating on here.

Mine, in a 64 plate, is abysmal. BT only works occasionally, cuts out during calls and is barely safer than using a phone, given the screen's size. Satnav ok but was already several years behind in terms of local roads upon delivery.

If you just want Bluetooth buy a parot or another hands free Bluetooth kit

4 year old electronics and you're surprised it's getting moody and outmoded?

How good is a 4 year old mobile phone???

In the dustbin ages ago is how good.

Most likely your phones are why the bt is terrible and cut out all the time. Had a galaxy s6+, was awful! Upgraded to a galaxy s8+, now faultless.
