Second 'flip' key

I've heard these cost a fortune. It seems that unlike VW, Seat only give you one flip key.

Is it possible to buy an Audi (3 button) one off ebay and reprogram? Has anyone any experience with these things?

EDIT: I found this reference on a VW site http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1216091. Sounds like you can reprogram the remote function and replace the key but to actually use it to turn on the engine it needs to be matched to the immobiliser which can only be done by a dealer.

there was a recent thread on briskoda,where one member took the plunge and bought the old style flip key(mk1 leon type).he used vag-com to program it and it works.so maybe possible on the new ones too.

EDIT: infact it was a superb key(same as new leon?)

I bought a second one when i got the car. I think it was 85 quid with discount. I know that VW ones can be £120 and my mate was quoted £200 for an audi one after his wife put it through the washing machine.
