Hi, have been getting a fault light up on the dash. Andy at Awesome checked it on the VAGCOM for me the other day, and it appears my Secondary Air Pump is on its way out.

Got a few questions:

1) Does anyone know where I could get a new one at a good price?

2) Is this a part I could change on my driveway easily enough?

Thanks in advance for help :)

As far as I'm aware the car is standard mapping. It was remapped fo a short period of time before I bought it but was revertd to standard as it was running rich.

I'll scout the Mk3 section, thanks :)

I thought this too Scott, after my old foray into Sports cats/uprated manis on the C...but according to Awesome they generally don't trigger anything on these..going to get under it and check the hoses out..awaiting a call back form a VAG specialist garage on a price for this just to see...might be cheaper to buy a £40 fault reader/eraser and just live it with it.

I'm suprised Awesome didn't actually recognise the fault as being a common one??

I know that noone really understands why it starts... I did see a thread that mentioned it could be a small valve in the system that breaks (an old VW Vortex forum thread) It does tend to happen when re-mapping or bypassing certain valves... I'd need to read up on it again though to say for sure... it's been a while!)
