I managed to get the first 2 services for just under £125 in the end. I wanted the dealer to reach a given monthly figure all in (PCP and servicing together), and said I wouldn't take the service plan if they couldn't reach my monthly figure.

You did. It was me. £11.45 per month via the SEAT/VAG UK finance plan. Check out my post for details but go for a 4 year plan, less than 10000 miles per year and you get 4 services and brake fluid change for more than £100 less than the current sum of services. :2nd:
Of course free is better by far.:1st:

Here you go

I have done some research on the Service Plan only, the service plus maintenance plan and the service plus maintenance and tyres plan.
Here it is:
Service Maintenance & Tyres
Year 3 Service only £10.99 Service and Maintenance £15.6 Service Maintenance & Tyres £21
Year 4 Service only £11.04 Service and Maintenance £20.52 Service Maintenance & Tyres N/a

Fixed Price Service Costs
Year 1 £169.00
Year 2 £189.00
Year 3 £129.00
Brakes £49.00
Year 4 £249.00

Year 1-3 Cost £536.00
Year 1-4 Cost £785.00

Monthly Payments 3 Years £10.99 4 Years £11.04
12 Months 3 Years £131.88 4 Years £132.48
Years 3 Years £395.64 4 Years £529.92

3 year Difference Plan vs PAYG Per Term £140.36 Per Year £46.79 Per Month £3.90
4 year difference Plan vs PAYG Per Term £255.08 Per Year £63.77 Per Month £5.31

As you can see:
1 The sweet spot is Service only plan. IMHO service plus maintenance adds items which should be covered under warranty.
2 The 3 year plan can be added to your 3 year 0% finance deal. The 4 year plan cannot for obvious reasons.
3 I was surprised how little taking the 4th year added to the cost especially when the cost of the 4 Year service is a hefty £249.
4 As has been stated, the prices are locked at the start of the Plan . I don not believe the dealers servicing costs will remain unchanged over 4 years and anticipate they will increase by at least inflation.
5 So I went with a 4 Year separate finance plan on a servcie only plan hoping to save £255 plus any increase in charges

Hope this helps those considering the same.

3 year plan with VW finance, 10,000 miles a year max.

£10.90 a month for 34 months (for some strange reason) which is £370 60.

As per Dephead's info above first 3 services are £487 thus I save £117. You are also protected against inflation.

Its daft not to.

If you can run to it go for four years as the 4th year service cost is high (£249) so you'll save even more. As per my post £255 over 4 years and don't forget that this calculation does not take account of increasing servicing costs. As your payments are fixed then the cost advantage will work in your favour. You'll only lose if you write off the car or it's repossessed:cry:

Sorry guys, I'm being thick. Can someone summarise the service only plan costs as I can't figure out the numbers above. Have I got this right?

3 yr service only plan is 36 x £10.99 over 36 months
4 yr service only plan is 48 x £11.09 over 48 months

I was told there was a different schedule if you do low mileage, I've done under 12,000 miles in 5 years since new in my current car.

Your figures are correct and were based on less than 10,000. This is because if you do more you will need a service more than once per year. You need a quote on the finance for this from VAG/SEAT.
