Is it normal to get CF's at low revs? Timing advance at the moment is 6 degrees, which shows no CF's under normal driving although I might drop this down a touch

Yes, because when you advance the timing with lemmiwinks/unisettings you do it across the the whole rev range but the WMI does not come in till higher up the rev range.

Well thats my understanding of it

I have my controller mounted under the bonnet though unfortunately
So do I, but I've a dash mounted LED

Low down CFs can be caused by being too lean as you spool up. Once that heat is in the cylinders, it very often carries on up the WOT rev range. One thing, avoid booting it at lower revs.

I'll see if I can find something like that, also need to block the port on the joiner as there is no way I'm putting the old one back in, lol
Its got a check valve in it so should not back feed boost, not that the small hole in the nozzle would equate to a big leak anyhows..
pull the pipe out of the silver check valve and extend to where you can see it.. the pipe end should be fine I think

This should be easy for you to set up your programmable boost controller to minimise boost at the lower revs.
All of the talk about wmi makes me want a snow kit, the only thing i'm slightly dubious about is that sacrifices need to be made such as the one mentioned above. Is it possible to have your cake and eat it with wmi.

What sacrifices?

I'm under the impression that the benfits of running increased timing isn't linear across the entire rev range and that to get the best out of it a custom remap is required. I thought you were considering a custom remap for reasons similar to this but i do get the wrong end of the stick at times.

Willy, you can have a custome map for WMI that keeps the timing low while your off boost/WMI then increases timing once you built boost and WMI.

Its just that most people with WMI are running stock stage 3 software.

you will actually be running more ign advance on light loads, which drops as boost climbs... so its probably the extra bottom end which makes the light load 'tinkle' the CF knock sensors are hearing on light load.

listen to most modern vauxhall & fords and they audiobly pink as they drive by... eak!

Managed to get a quick log last night while i was out, this is still running 25%, looks like theres no more timing to be had until i go and see Bill and see what the fueling is doing with the wideband?

Is there anymore logs anybody would like to see? Ill try and get them ASAP just really busy at the moment, just got my first house :D

This is with 5.25deg added, would you agree thats it for now? Im just going by the CF`s as im still not sure what im really looking for in the Ign timing colum.

to put into prespective, my ibiza has been running 33 degrees of ign advance to 7krpm, then dropped down to 28 degrees till 9krpm

it did lift the head off tho from cylinder pressures... but no det also.. :p

i would leave your timing there benny

what wmi mix ratio?
