Shout box

Hi all do you not think we should all have a shout box at the main page? I think the real benefit to this could be all the user that cba to search will post in a shout box first and we as experianced members can advice/tell them to search or post a link! hence not getting loads of same post in each section from things to like n249 bypass to fault codes? I am a member on a gaming forum and they have a shoutbox and it cuts out lots of spam and repeat posts, the mods have there own shout box and members to! Its does help so much!

Its like a backdoor for the more experienced forum user and im sure its something that was looked into previously, plus adding to an already busy forum as well as being unmoderated AND open to spammers.

I'm not really a fan really

We're updating the software 'at some point' again, and due to the size of the forum we're almost looking at the opposite to strip back functionality to keep it as slick and reliable as possible.

It's a very server intensive task, so we would try to avoid things like that.
